Day 2: Merzouga – Nomads – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi – Sahara Desert Camp

After breakfast, spend the day exploring the Merzouga Desert and discovering the unique culture of the Sahara.

Travel by 4x4 through the desert around Erg Chebbi and visit a local nomadic family. Enjoy a traditional glass of Moroccan mint tea while learning about their lifestyle, traditions, and life in the desert.

Continue to Khamlia, a small village famous for its Gnawa music and the cultural heritage of communities originally from sub-Saharan Africa. Enjoy a traditional musical performance and learn more about the history and culture of the village.

Afterward, continue exploring the Merzouga area before stopping for lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, return toward the Erg Chebbi dunes for one of the highlights of the tour: a camel ride across the Sahara Desert.

Ride your camel into the golden dunes while enjoying the changing colors of the desert landscape. Reach your desert camp in time to watch the spectacular Sahara sunset.
